NEWS February 19, 2008 Mark has had a great past few weeks, including another high finish in freestyle in Indianapolis with huge power wheelies during a great run, followed by a 27 and several other solid runs in freestyle in Rockford the following week. In addition, Jim Burns brought Mechanical Mischief to Rockford and made great strides, pleasing the hometown fans with solid performances all around. "I'm feeling comfortable in the truck, and I think we're getting things set up better where they need to be," said Burns. Chattanooga brought more success, with Mark taking the wheelie contest wins on Saturday evening and Sunday, in addition to a 25/30 in freestyle one night. In Rosemont, Mark was able to pull off a few more power wheelies in freestyle, but suffered a broken drive shaft during his last freestyle of the weekend. Photos from Indianapolis and Rockford are now online! Also, video courtesy of Nicole Morse from Rockford is available HERE for Devastator and HERE for Mechanical Mischief (Quicktime required, VIDEOS MAY TAKE AWHILE TO DOWNLOAD; BE PATIENT). All copyrights and rights of the trucks, building, promoter, and respective owners apply; videos should not be used for profit. January 24, 2008 Photos of both Devastator and Mechanical Mischief, Jim Burns' recently-debuted truck (pictured above), are now online from Minneapolis. Jim made it to the second round in racing and had a solid freestyle in his first time out on a big floor. Mark is headed to Indianapolis this weekend and hopes to have several more power wheelies ready for the fans in freestyle! January 21, 2008 Minneapolis was good to Mark this weekend, as Devastator took third in a field of 16 trucks in freestyle with a 24. Included in the run were three standing-start power wheelies, a rarity in freestyle. "I feel like the new cleated tires we have in the rear are excellent for wheelies and freestyle, but I'm having trouble getting used to the racing with them," said Mark. "We have great power in the motor, and combine that with the tires and we can do the wheelies." Video of Mark's run can be watched HERE, and we will have more photos online soon! January 18, 2008 Mark has had successful outings in his first two shows. His new cleated tires in the back of the truck helped in Des Moines, where he was pulling standing-start power wheelies. "It was definitely a rush having 10,560 pounds of truck on the wheelie bar in such a small space," said Mark. Evansville was a very small, tight arena, but Mark put on a solid show for the fans. At the same time Evansville was happening, however, Devastator crewman Jim Burns was making a big debut in Wichita, Kansas--his truck, Mechanical Mischief, made its Monster Jam debut! "It was good to get going and get some shows under my belt, and even though we have a few bugs to work out, I'm looking forward to doing more, and I appreciate all the help I get from everyone," Burns said. Josh Kirschner's photos from Des Moines are now available to view in the Photos section, and we will have the full run-down from Minneapolis, where Burns and Mark are both competing. January 3, 2008 Mark and crew are on the road to Des Moines for the first show of the new season, and he is very excited about all the new changes going on for the team. "We have a new engine in the truck and new cleated tires we're trying for this show, so it will be pretty interesting. I'm excited to see how things will work," he said. In addition, Mark debuted as the co-host of Monster Jam on Speed Channel for all 24 shows of the 2008 televised season. He is very excited to bring a technical aspect to the show and looking forward to being Scott Douglass' partner for the whole season. Results from Des Moines are on the way, and Josh Kirschner's photos from Elko, Minnesota are now online! Enjoy! |
