NEWS February 5, 2010 Mark and crew braved the ice storms to post another solid weekend of racing and freestyle in North Little Rock, Arkansas this past weekend. This weekend is Peoria, Illinois, and we will have full coverage from the show! January 29, 2010
Mark had a great and breakage-free weekend in Minneapolis, where freestyle was his highlight. Mark pulled two great power wheelies, brought some nice vertical air to the table, and got a slap wheelie as well (pictured above) for a great score and showing in the competition. This weekend is North Little Rock, Arkansas. Stay tuned for more! January 17, 2010
Mark once again pushed Gary Porter's Grave Digger to the limit in the Maniac Challenge, finishing just a single second behind Digger to grab second place. In freestyle, his run was cut short by a broken front steering hose. Some harsh luck did not get The Felon team down. Mark fought through all the breakage to still post solid scores in every competition. Photos are on the way, and Minneapolis is next week! January 16, 2010
Mark finished second on the night in the Maniac Challenge (a timed obstacle course) and had a great wheelie in the wheelie competition. Freestyle was hampered by a broken oil pump and transmission issues that kept the crew working late into the night. The Felon will be ready for tomorrow's show, and we'll have an update then! January 15, 2010 Mark is making his 2010 driving debut at the hometown Milwaukee Monster Jam tonight and tomorrow driving The Felon! He enjoyed a great live show as the pit reporter for Speed Channel's Monster Jam in Atlanta and is ready to run the Felon all first quarter. We will have all the photos and updates, in addition to Mark's 2010 schedule shortly. November 18, 2009 Mark will be heading to the Minneapolis Monster Jam on December 5 after working on The Felon to prepare it for 2010. In the meantime, check out this blast from the past, sent in by Brian Wartgow. This is Mark freestyling Devastator in Milwaukee way back in 2005. Thanks, Brian:

Mark will be running his limited summer schedule with The Felon, and has been enjoying some time off--until this weekend! Check back soon for updates! March 24, 2009 Mark is headed to Las Vegas to co-host the Monster Jam World Finals 10 at the moment, and we will take this opportunity to recap the rest of his season. Rosemont, Illinois and Fargo, North Dakota brought exciting runs and power wheelies in the case of Fargo, as you can see below: "We had a good first quarter, and we are looking forward to some Summer Heat events hopefully, as well as keeping a relatively busy summer schedule," said Mark. The truck is currently undergoing some maintenance, including the addition of wheel tethers and some of the newest RaceSource parts and pieces. February 6, 2009 Milwaukee Monster Jam-Racing Final-Mark takes the victory! Milwaukee Monster Jam-Devastator's Freestyle! Rockford, Illinois brought some spectacular moments as well as breakage for Devastator. Twice, Mark stood the truck straight up and down on the tailgate in the wheelie contests during the three-show weekend. "I'm still getting used to the extra horsepower of the new motor, and it showed a little bit during wheelies," he said. After repairing some light body damage, the truck went through a solid weekend of racing and freestyle. The team is arriving in Fargo, North Dakota for another exciting weekend of monster truck action now! Our photo gallery is updated with shots from Rockford, Des Moines, and Milwaukee, with more to come!

Mark had a solid weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina. "It was quite a long trip compared to what we normally do, and we had some engine issues, but we got them fixed in time for the second show, and we made it through," he said. The team travels to Rockford this weekend to compete with the likes of Grave Digger and Donkey Kong. January 23, 2009
Mark came up just short of a few wins on night two in Milwaukee, losing a narrow race to Grave Digger and finishing second in freestyle.
"I didn't get the win, but I know that I had a good run there, and it could have gone either way," he said. Council Bluffs and Des Moines were routine shows with the exception of the new engine combination Mark is running that adds many horsepower!
"We are doing more standing start power wheelies, and only a few other trucks can do that on the ciruit," said Mark.
Mark is on the road to Raleigh, North Carolina this weekend, and we will have more from there soon! For now, enjoy our teaser shots from Milwaukee and Des Moines! January 17, 2009 Devastator took the sweep on night one in Milwaukee, winning the wheelie contest, racing, and freestyle over the likes of Grave Digger, Captain's Curse, Full Boar, Rap Attack, and Nitemare! We will be catching you up on all the happenings from Milwaukee, Council Bluffs, and Des Moines soon, with photos! January 1, 2009 Happy New Year from our families to yours! We are headed to Des Moines, Iowa today to kick off the new season, and we will return with photos and updates on how Mark's first shows of the season went. Three shows in two days is tough, but Mark is ready, albeit a bit nervous. "We have a brand new engine in the truck, a brand new ISP seat, and I've moved the rear steer switch a bit," he said. "We're trying some different things, and I'm nervous about it, but I'm also excited!" Thanks for checking us out, and you can get more information on the Schedule page about shows Devastator will be at this year! We will return with updates soon! December 5, 2008 Mark and Devastator enjoyed some time off in the month of November, but the truck is currently undergoing an overhaul to ensure it performs at its very best for 2009. First, Mark will head to Minneapolis this weekend to call the action from the Metrodome for Speed Channel with co-host Scott Douglass. After that, it's back to the shop, where the team recently purchased an engine block from Grave Digger engine builder Richard Midgett. "Richard is one of the best in the business, and we will have some extra horespower underneath us this season," said Mark. Mark will also be installing an ISP racing seat soon. Our 2009 schedule is now online, with more dates to come! Enjoy! October 8, 2008
For the first time ever, Mark and Devastator will be featured in a video game! Monster Jam: Urban Assault will indeed include Devastator as a playable truck. Click the link below for a video showcasing the truck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SATaM-0AJk September 22, 2008 It has been mostly smooth sailing for Mark, and with one show left to go, things are going to plan. "I've been happy with how we're doing, and I'm looking forward to some time to really go through the truck and get it ready for first quarter of 2009," said Mark. In preparation for Mark's last show of 2008, we found video from the last time the truck was in Elko (check our photos out from there!). Watch the video by clicking HERE! Mark has also been doing work for Speed Channel as the co-host with Scott Douglass. Check out Speed's coverage of Monster Jam this year to hear Mark and Scott call all the action! In addition, Mark is featured in the Monster Jam Freestyle: Controlled Chaos 2 DVD, as well as being the co-host for World Finals 9! Thank you for visiting Devastatormonstertruck.com! July 23, 2008 We apologize for the lack of updates; it's been very busy all around for all members of the Devastator team. Mark has been doing summer shows and doing them well, including great showings in two separate double weekends, one in Elko, Minnesota followed by Dells Raceway Park in Wisconsin, and another in Union Grove, Wisconsin followed by Farley, Iowa. "We were doing power wheelies down the entire track in Union Grove, and dragged the wheelie bar with a little damage in Elko as well," said Mark. "After Union Grove we put a new oil pump in the truck and did excellent in Farley also." Mark is also doing some voice work for the Monster Jam television show; be sure to check out the new episodes on Speed Channel. Check out MonsterJamOnline.com for more information! Photos from Elko, Martin Michigan, and Dells Raceway Park are online, and we are in the process of a fresh look for the site as well! May 21, 2008 It has been a busy time for all involved with the Devastator team since our last update. Mark finished out the first quarter in style, taking several victories and scoring well in all contests. In addition, he did a great job in the booth for his first co-hosting of the Monster Jam World Finals on SPEED, set to air later this year. We have updated the Schedule page and also the photos (Saginaw, Michigan). Enjoy! February 19, 2008 Mark has had a great past few weeks, including another high finish in freestyle in Indianapolis with huge power wheelies during a great run, followed by a 27 and several other solid runs in freestyle in Rockford the following week. In addition, Jim Burns brought Mechanical Mischief to Rockford and made great strides, pleasing the hometown fans with solid performances all around. "I'm feeling comfortable in the truck, and I think we're getting things set up better where they need to be," said Burns. Chattanooga brought more success, with Mark taking the wheelie contest wins on Saturday evening and Sunday, in addition to a 25/30 in freestyle one night. In Rosemont, Mark was able to pull off a few more power wheelies in freestyle, but suffered a broken drive shaft during his last freestyle of the weekend. Photos from Indianapolis and Rockford are now online! Also, video courtesy of Nicole Morse from Rockford is available HERE for Devastator and HERE for Mechanical Mischief (Quicktime required, VIDEOS MAY TAKE AWHILE TO DOWNLOAD; BE PATIENT). All copyrights and rights of the trucks, building, promoter, and respective owners apply; videos should not be used for profit. January 24, 2008 Photos of both Devastator and Mechanical Mischief, Jim Burns' recently-debuted truck (pictured above), are now online from Minneapolis. Jim made it to the second round in racing and had a solid freestyle in his first time out on a big floor. Mark is headed to Indianapolis this weekend and hopes to have several more power wheelies ready for the fans in freestyle! January 21, 2008 Minneapolis was good to Mark this weekend, as Devastator took third in a field of 16 trucks in freestyle with a 24. Included in the run were three standing-start power wheelies, a rarity in freestyle. "I feel like the new cleated tires we have in the rear are excellent for wheelies and freestyle, but I'm having trouble getting used to the racing with them," said Mark. "We have great power in the motor, and combine that with the tires and we can do the wheelies." Video of Mark's run can be watched HERE, and we will have more photos online soon! January 18, 2008 Mark has had successful outings in his first two shows. His new cleated tires in the back of the truck helped in Des Moines, where he was pulling standing-start power wheelies. "It was definitely a rush having 10,560 pounds of truck on the wheelie bar in such a small space," said Mark. Evansville was a very small, tight arena, but Mark put on a solid show for the fans. At the same time Evansville was happening, however, Devastator crewman Jim Burns was making a big debut in Wichita, Kansas--his truck, Mechanical Mischief, made its Monster Jam debut! "It was good to get going and get some shows under my belt, and even though we have a few bugs to work out, I'm looking forward to doing more, and I appreciate all the help I get from everyone," Burns said. Josh Kirschner's photos from Des Moines are now available to view in the Photos section, and we will have the full run-down from Minneapolis, where Burns and Mark are both competing. January 3, 2008 Mark and crew are on the road to Des Moines for the first show of the new season, and he is very excited about all the new changes going on for the team. "We have a new engine in the truck and new cleated tires we're trying for this show, so it will be pretty interesting. I'm excited to see how things will work," he said. In addition, Mark debuted as the co-host of Monster Jam on Speed Channel for all 24 shows of the 2008 televised season. He is very excited to bring a technical aspect to the show and looking forward to being Scott Douglass' partner for the whole season. Results from Des Moines are on the way, and Josh Kirschner's photos from Elko, Minnesota are now online! Enjoy! |
